Chashu

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless pork belly
  • 1 stalk green onion, roughlychopped
  • 1 ½ cups Yamasa Shoyu Ramen BrothConcentrate
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 ½ cups water
  • 2 tablespoons ginger, minced

Directions

  1. Score the fatty side of your pork belly. Then slice lengthwise into 1-2 inch strips.
  2. In a large skillet or soup pot add ½ a cup of Yamasa Shoyu Ramen Broth Concentrate, garlic, ginger and ¼ cup of water, bring to boil.
  3. Once boiling add the pork belly and sear each side of each strip, 2-4 minutes each. Once all sides are seared, add remaining water, green onion and Yamasa Shoyu Ramen Broth Concentrate to the pot, bring to boil.
  4. Let boil for an hour. Then put all of the pot’s contents into a crock pot on high for 10-12 hours or until extremely tender.
  5. Remove the pork belly from the crock pot and serve with your favorite ramen, using the broth in the crockpot or serve on rice and enjoy.
