Hibachi Style Fried Rice

Craving hibachi style fried rice at home? Try this recipe for a restaurant experience in the comfort of your own home.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cooked white rice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 16 ounce package frozen peas and carrots
  • 2 tablespoons Yamasa Shoyu Ramen Broth
  • 1 tablespoon Yamasa Reduced Sodium Shoyu
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Yum Yum sauce as a garnish

Yum Yum Sauce

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 Tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Melted Butter
  • 2-3 tables spoons water

Directions

  1. Cook the rice and let it cool.
  2. Once the rice has cooled, break apart any clumps.
  3. Over medium-high heat in a skillet or a flat top grill, add olive oil, crack the eggs and stir to scramble.
  4. Season with salt and pepper and use a spatula or turner to fully scramble the eggs. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add in another tablespoon of oil and sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  6. Add the peas and carrots and stir to combine.
  7. Add in the cooked rice and eggs and toss to mix well.
  8. Add Yamasa Shoyu Ramen Broth, Yamasa Reduced Sodium Shoyu, mirin and butter, making sure to coat the rice well with the butter.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Dish and serve the rice hot with yum yum sauce and your choice of hibachi vegetables, hibachi chicken, hibachi shrimp or hibachi steak.

Yum Yum Sauce

  1. In a small bowl whisk the mayonnaise, rice vinegar, tomato paste, paprika, garlic powder, sugar, butter and salt and pepper.
  2. Add water as needed to get the desired consistency.
