Savory Apple Pie

This is a quick, easy and delicious apple pie for any occasion.

  1. Preheat oven to 400F degrees.
  2. Take your premade pie crust out of the fridge and let rest 5-10 minutes before using.
  3. Once the pie crust has rested, place one of the 2 – 9-inchpi crusts in your pie plate.
  4. Pour in 1 quart of your premade apple pie filling. Top with the other 9-inch pie crust and gently press to seal and fold the edges of your piecrust. Cut 4-8 slits in the top of your pie to create steam vents. Place the pie on a cooking sheet.
  5. Take your sugar and cinnamon and pix together in a small bowl, set aside.
  6. Beat your egg white until frothy, then brush the surface of your pie with the egg wash. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon mixture on the top of the pie.
  7. Cover the edges with a pie shield or a strip of foil to keep them from over browning during the first 25 minutes.
  8. Bake at 400F degrees for 25 minutes. After the 25minutes, carefully remove the pie shield or tinfoil and turn down the oven to375F degree for an additional 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Let cool and serve.
